Not updated ... oops!

Well,  usually when I update my Facebook page I also update here, but obviously not last time! https://www.facebook.com/TwistedYarns I'd love any feedback - via Facebook or on here :-) If you'd like to see pictures then you'll have to check via Facebook at the moment as we are changing which cloud we store our photos on LOL! Air Dry Clay Play

Image
Again a long time since I've had anything to put on here, but I've been playing with air dry clay... but it's so expensive in the UK so I've had a go at making my own... and had a little bit of fun :-) Shop bought clay - this started as an owl but I changed my mind as I went along and made an cat LOL! Then I made a couple of batches of cold porcelain (I won't tell about the previous attempt at a no cook recipe!) and the first batch was way too sticky but the second was a little better... I had a go at making a little owl on a branch, but without colouring the porcelain as I wasn't expecting much... ...but I really like it so wish it was coloured now! Lately I tried colouring the porcelain before I had a go at modelling, and for some reason I ended up with a clown - but he is kind of cute :-) Let me know what you think ;-) xXx

Clay play continues...

Well, the PC didn't go too well, as the pen melted! Other than that it was great. I've also had a look at airdrying clay and that was great fun.... Here's my first attempts :-) These were made using DAS airdry clay, which gives a rough look to the flowers, but I was still really pleased with them :-) This second set of flowers were made using a more expensive type of air drying clay, and gave a much smoother colour, the first flower went so well that I went one step further and coloured the next ones. They are fairly basic still but I have REALLY enjoyed making them :-p Since then I have had another play with ADC and then with Katie's playdough. But, you'll have to wait to look at those <3 Sara xXx

Something in the oven....

Something is baking but it isn't food! I've finally had a chance to play with my polymer clay and I have used a leaf cane I made a couple of weeks ago to decorate a pen and pen holder. This is what they looked like before they went in the oven... Can't wait now for it to come out and see if it has actually worked or whether I have a mess in the oven :-) xXx

Welcome 2013

Well hello, Happy New Year! I'm back after a break for Christmas etc and I've been playing with polymer clay :-) I ordered a pasta machine  for myself   from Colin, and got my first chance to play with it today... I've attempted to make a leaf cane, but it's resting in the fridge before I cut it... so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow... xXx
